Happy Birthday Mother

What a tremendous experience to have lived through a changing world for 100 years! When you were growing up, 90% of the items we take for granted today weren't even around, everything from airplanes to i-pods.

One of my first memories of you was when I was three and we were living on Green Ave. in Winnipeg. They feared I might have polio and I can still see you standing beside my hospital bed, in a blue and white polka dot dress while they tapped my spine.

The years on Campbell St. when Mick and I were going to school. In those days kids came home for lunch and there was always a hot one waiting for us. Your's was the nobelest profession of all; mother and homemaker.

It was then that we were instilled with a love for books and an appreciation for music, although with Mick and I sawing away on a violin for an hour each day I'm not sure about Dad's musical appreciation!

I could continue to go on about our growing up, leaving home, etc. and what you have meant to us all.
But remember, they say the first hundred years are the hardest, so it should be smooth sailing from here on in.

From myself, Jane and Winston the pug, Happy Birthday and God Bless.

Love

Bobby

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 100th BIRTHDAY MARGUERITE!

After marrying Mickey in England in September 1966, the following year in July 1967 you gave me a very warm welcome to Canada and a special marriage reception with beautiful cake. Thank you very much. It was a wonderful trip through Winnipeg to meet family and friends, then on to Toronto to meet big brother Bob. An exciting time of travel for me.

After moving to BC the following years were spent at a distance from Manitoba and now it nice that you have been able enjoy the calming weather in Beautiful BC in your latter years as we do.

I always knew you would have a good long life and wish you all God's blessings for your special 100th birthday. CONGRATULATIONS!

Janet

Grandma,

Happy 100th birthday! I can't describe the good fortune and privilege I feel at being blessed with a grandmother who's lived to see a century pass. I think back with great fondness to the moments we shared throughout my childhood - the visits, the laughter, the songs that were sung. The kindness and care you showed me will always be remembered.

"Only those who truly love and who are truly strong can sustain their lives as a dream. You dwell in your own enchantment. Life throws stones at you, but your love and your dream change those stones into the flowers of discovery. Even if you lose, or are defeated by things, your triumph will always be exemplary. And if no one knows it, then there are places that do. People like you enrich the dreams of the worlds, and it is dreams that create history. People like you are unknowing transformers of things, protected by your own fairy-tale, by love."

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY AUNTIE MARGARET. We were so happy to hear you were having such an exciting special day. We are also glad you are still feeling pretty good and sharp as a tack! Doris & I remember many good dinners at your place on Campbell st., esp. at this time of year. We also remember when you visited us in Kamloops and all the good times we had at Granite lake. We know Mick has given you good care and we hope he continues to do so. Next time we are in Vanc. we will call Mick and come and get your secrets on longevity! We hope you have had a wonderful day and we will try and post a few pictures on the web.

Best wishes with love from Doris & Doug

To a wonderful Mother who adopted me when I was 5 yrs old...and I am extremely grateful. I now have the pleasure of taking care of her and she is so much fun. She does get quite fiesty with the girls who come twice a day to give her a sponge bath, but they love her and everyone says...she is the strongest person they have ever met at her age. Sometimes she grabs the face cloth and they have a really hard time trying to get it out of her hand. It's quite a laugh. In the morning I go to her and say "how are you doing beautiful" and she just laughs and beams all over. Her great grandson Steven, who is now 7 yrs old comes over and always go to her first and gives her a kiss and hug says hi 'great gramma brown'. She's all smiles and kisses him back and just loves it whenever he comes over to stay overnight with me who he calls 'papa'.
"Mom you are truly amazing with a great sense of humor, kindness and caring for others and you are greatly loved by others and especially me. I am soooooo thankful that you are the one who took me in and adopted me as your son. May you live another 100 years. Blessings.
Love your son Mickey"

Happy 100th Birthday Aunt Marguerite

You may not remember me. I am your niece, Susan. My father, Neil Brown was your brother-in-law. Bob contacted me to let me know that your birthday was coming up. I haven't seen you for many years; I think the last time we visited I was 14 years old and my mother, Jean, sister Pat, and I visited Winnipeg. I remember you as a very friendly, warm lady. Here's wishing you many more years on mother earth.

Happy birthday Aunt Marguerite from your nephew Larry Nentwig. Reaching 100 years is quite a milestone. Dad, your brother Herbert, also sends his best wishes. He is doing fine and in general good health. He lives in a nursing home in Winnipeg and on his last birthday, September 1, 2005, he turned 97. Must be good genes in the Nentwig family. I hope that I have inherited my share. I am going to see if I can send some pictures to you. My computer skills are limit so I hope it works.

Once again my best wishes and sincere congratulations on your 100th birthday.

Larry Nentwig

I remember going to the SDA church about 1960 or 61 about 5 of us college students from Union College were on a week-end trip. Mrs Brown took us home for lunch and then pack us sandwiches to take on on way. I've never fortgetten her kindness.
